Both trackers cost £99 and use the same tracking service, so the choice comes down to how the tracker gets its power and how it will be fitted. The TVC107 is wired into the machine’s electrics; the TBC212 connects to its battery. Here is how to choose.

In short

Choose the TVC107 for a concealed, professionally wired install on a tractor or powered machine. Choose the TBC212 for a simpler battery connection and a tougher IP67 housing. Compare both in the GPS tracker range.

When the TVC107 is the better choice

  • You want the tracker hidden inside the cab or loom where it is hard to find.
  • You can have it fitted by an auto-electrician or competent installer.
  • You want tow-alarm capability for a machine that could be lifted or loaded rather than driven.
  • There is a dry, protected place to mount it, as its IP54 housing is not designed for direct exposure.

When the TBC212 is the better choice

  • You want a simpler battery connection rather than tapping into the wiring loom.
  • The tracker may be mounted somewhere exposed to water, mud or washing, where IP67 helps.
  • The machine has a permanent battery supply that is not routinely isolated.

Neither is a self-powered tracker. If the battery is regularly disconnected, or the asset has no battery at all (such as a trailer), ask us about a self-powered option like the TAT240.

What the tracking service includes

Both trackers use the same Rural Secure service: app and portal access, location reporting, configured geofencing and movement alerts, SIM and data connectivity, and basic support. Monthly service is £7.99 per asset and can be cancelled at the end of a billing month; annual service is £79.99, saving £15.89. Installation is quoted separately.

Questions

Can I fit either tracker myself?

Professional fitting is recommended for the TVC107. The TBC212 has a simpler battery connection but still needs competent fitting following the supplied manual.

Are these insurer-approved trackers?

No. They are customer-accessible GPS trackers, not Thatcham-approved S5/S7 systems with a monitored recovery team. See our guide on tractor trackers and insurance.
