Rural Secure Long Driveway Security Kit

Long-driveway monitoring with gate-open alerts and 4G video

Built for rural properties where the entrance can be hundreds of metres from the house, office or farm building. This package combines the Wireless HD Cam 40m with the 900m Wireless Gate Alert.

The gate-contact system provides an audible indoor warning when the monitored gate opens, while the camera independently provides motion-triggered event clips through the OCULi portal. This gives you an early-warning layer and a separate way to visually check activity at the entrance.

Included in this kit

• Rural Secure Wireless HD Cam 40m
• Rural Secure 900m Wireless Gate Alert

Best suited for

• Long private driveways
• Farm gates separated from the main building
• Rural tracks and remote entrances
• Properties where conventional Wi-Fi does not reach the gate

How the layered setup works

1. The gate contact detects the monitored gate opening and sends a wireless signal to the receiver.
2. The 4G camera independently monitors its chosen detection area and provides event footage remotely.
3. Together they provide an immediate local alert plus visual verification without relying on Wi-Fi at the entrance.

Installation difficulty: Moderate

The equipment is suitable for DIY installation, but long rural distances make positioning important. Check the route between the gate transmitter and receiver, choose a camera position with suitable mobile coverage, and test both systems before permanent fixing.

Range and coverage to check

• The quoted 900m wireless range is based on clear line of sight.
• Buildings, terrain, trees and interference can reduce wireless range.
• The camera requires suitable mobile-network coverage at its installation point.
• A Luminite roaming-SIM subscription is required for the camera, currently starting from £6.50 per month.
• The camera and gate alert are separate systems and do not directly trigger one another.

Bundle value: Current individual product total £1,426.79. Kit price £1,378.80 — a £47.99 saving.
